Welt Construction Safety Boots and Shoes

The welted construction as current wearers of this style of safety footwear will already know gives you a great looking traditional style of safety footwear which is robust enough to give you a good life span from the boots or shoes. The method of stitching and cementing using the Goodyear Welt method dates back to 1869. When introduced this new method of securing the upper to the outsole resulted in an end product which was consistently good quality and durable for everyday use.

The Goodyear welt method uses a combination of stitching the upper to the outsole and cementing the upper to the outsole means that both components are bonded together in a much more secure way. This dual Welted method of combining the stitching and the cementing is a lot better and more durable than footwear which has the upper and outsole which are just cemented together.
